Not only can you add media files and the contact's name to the text, but you can also enhance your script by linking branches of your campaigns, setting custom pause times, or automatically opting students out after a message.
Linking Script Messages
Should you need to direct contacts from one branch of a survey to another existing branch, there's no need to build the whole branch again! You can link a message to another message by using the plus button and selecting "Link to Existing Message" from the options. See an example of how to do this below:
Pausing the Campaign
Perhaps you want to send a text to a contact then follow up after an hour. Don’t worry, you do not have to send two separate campaigns. You can use the custom pause time feature to set this up. If you have your script open and click on the top three dots of the message box, you will see an option to “Set Custom Pause Time.” This will set the desired pause between one message and another.
When sending a campaign with a pause, please avoid sending contacts other campaigns during the time the first campaign is active. If you send a contact a second campaign while the initial campaign is paused, the system will kick them out of the initial campaign.
After you select the option to set a custom pause time, you will be prompted to determine how long you want that pause to be. You will have the option to put in a numerical value and set the custom pause to seconds, minutes, or hours. The default pause between messages is 16 seconds and it helps ensure that messages are delivered in the correct order.
If you want to remove the custom pause time, simply click on the message prompt box, select the three dots and click “Clear Custom Pause Time.
Opt-Out a Student Automatically
While building scripts, you also have the option to opt a student out of your bot after sending a specific message. Let’s say you send a survey asking a student if they plan to enroll at your campus and they say no, you can have your bot reply with a message saying your school will miss having them on campus but wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors. Then, set them to no longer receive messages from your bot.
To do so, open the message prompt and select the “Set Status: Opt-Out” option. Please note they will be set to no longer receive messages from you in this channel right after that message is delivered.
If you choose to remove this opt-out functionality before sending your script in a campaign, simply click the minus sign next to the functionality.
