Organizing My Scripts with Labels
Now you can organize My Scripts using your own custom labels. A Scripts can have multiple labels and you will be able to filter your scripts using the labels you create.
You can organize your scripts by timeframes, categories, or any other organization attribute you find useful for your organization.
Creating a new Script Label
Let’s say you currently have multiple scripts that inform students about financial information and you want to group them together using a Financial label.
To create your first script label:
- Go to the Scripts page
- Click ‘+ New Script Label’ in the left panel.
- Add label name in the Create New Script Label pop-up.
- Ex: type ‘Financials’
- Click Create Script Label
- The label will appear in the left panel below all other existing labels.
Add labels to a single script
Now that you have your Financial label you want to attach it to the existing script which currently resides in the My Scripts section.
To add labels to a script:
- Find the script you want to add labels to in the My Scripts table.
- Click the Manage label option
- Type the name of the labels you want to add
- In this case type in Financials
- Save changes
You can also add labels to a script in the Script Builder.
Add a label to multiple scripts
You notice that you have three other scripts that can be grouped with the Financial label that you normally send to Seniors and do not want to do the steps above four different times. You can use the multi-select option to do this update in one bulk.
To apply a label to multiple scripts:
- Select scripts using the checkbox on the left
- Click “Manage Labels” at the top of the table
- Type the names of the labels you want to attach
- In this case type in Financials
- You can also type in Seniors to create a label for that class year and attach it to the selected scripts.
- Save changes
Removing a label from a script
After adding the labels to the scripts you realize one of the scripts is actually not intended for Seniors and you want to remove that label from the respective script.
To remove a label from a script:
- Search for the script
- Hover over the script
- Click the label manager icon.
- Click the X next to the label you want to remove.
- Save changes
Removing a label from multiple scripts
You decide that you actually do not want to tie the remaining scripts with the Seniors label.
To remove a label from multiple scripts at once:
- Select the scripts using the checkbox
- Click the label manager icon at the top of the table.
- Click the X next to the label you want to remove.
- Troubleshooting: if the label you want to remove is not in this list, it is possible that some of the scripts selected are not using that label. First, add the label from this menu. Then, click the X to remove it from all selected scripts.
- Save changes
Deleting a label
You realize you no longer need the Seniors label and want to remove it from your list of labels.
To delete a label:
- In the sidebar, hover over the label you wish to delete.
- Click the option menu ⠇
- In the options menu, click Delete
- Click the Delete Script Label button
Deleting a label will NOT delete the scripts but will only delete the relationship between the deleted label and the scripts that contain the label.
Renaming a label
You decide that you want to rename the label from Financials to Finances.
To rename a label:
- Click on the label
- Click the option menu
- Click Rename option
- Type the new name in the Rename Label pop-up
- In this case type ‘Finances’
- Save Changes
After you rename a label the new name will replace the old name in all of the scripts where you added the original label to.
Filtering Scripts by Label
You decide that you want to see all the scripts you have added with the Finances label.
To filter the scripts by the Finances label:
1. Click the Finances label
Making a Copy of a Script with Labels
When you choose to make a copy of an existing script you can choose what labels to give the duplicated script.
To duplicate a script and give it labels do the following:
- Find the script you want to make a copy of
- Click the Copy option
- Add labels you want the duplicate script to have.
- Save Changes
